Exploring Authors

This term, the children at King Ina C of E Academy have thoroughly enjoyed exploring a range of wonderful authors. In EYFS, the children have enjoyed diving into the imaginative world of Julia Donaldson. The children have immersed themselves in a variety of fun and creative activities linking to her stories during provision time. Pipits and Wagtails have also started building a beautiful reading tree, which will continue to grow and flourish as they explore more books throughout the year. The children in KS1 have enjoyed reading the charming animal tales of Dick King-Smith, ‘The Sheep Pig’ and ‘Dinosaur Trouble’ have been among the favourites. In Lower Key Stage 2, pupils were immersed in the quirky and inventive world of Roald Dahl and have particularly enjoyed reading ‘Esio Trot’. In Upper Key Stage 2, the have children engaged thoughtfully with ‘When the Sky Falls’ by Phil Earle. It has been a fantastic term of reading for pleasure for every year group, and it’s been lovely to see so many lights shine! Well done everyone. Mrs Wills.
