FINANCE MANAGER

Dates:                          Apply by 9am on Tuesday, 12th March 2024

Location:                     Somerton, Somerset

Contract type:             Part time, term time only

                                    19.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday – with the option to combine with

                                   Finance Assistant role at an extra 12.5 hours per week.  Plus additional hours, as

                                   required.

Contract term:             Permanent

Salary:                         Grade 11, Points 20 – 25 (depending on experience/qualifications)

                                   (pro rata, based on Full Time Equivalent of £30,296 - £33,945)

   

At King Ina C of E Academy we are looking for a Finance Manager to manage the day-to-day financial transactions of the academy, accurately and on time, in order to assist with the smooth running of the academy’s finances.  Including the completion of monthly reconciliations, preparation of monthly financial reports and completion of statutory returns.

 

This is a rewarding role providing significant support to the successful running of the academy. 

 

The successful candidate will:

  • have at least 3 years recent relevant financial management experience, including the production of monthly reports, budget planning and monitoring and VAT
  • be AAT or part-qualified, or has considerable accounting experience
  • have excellent Excel skills and other Office products
  • be able to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • be able to present and communicate information in a logical, clear and concise format
  • be highly motivated and organised
  • be able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team
  • have the ability to identify priorities and ensure deadlines are met
  • be resilient and able to cope well under pressure
  • have a willingness to learn and a flexibility of approach to problems
  • be highly proficient in the use of computers and office and financial software packages.

FINANCE ASSISTANT

At King Ina C of E Academy we are looking for a Finance Assistant to assist the Finance Manager with the management of the academy’s financial processes.  Duties will include day-to-day management of ParentPay, processing purchase orders, checking deliveries and processing invoices for payment.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • accuracy and attention to detail
  • mathematical skills including the ability to analyse data.
  • the ability to organise own work, to be able to prioritise tasks and keep to deadlines
  • the ability to communicate and interact effectively with adults and students
  • the ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
  • experience of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • awareness of sensitive information and the need for confidentiality

Qualification requirement:  The successful candidate will have a minimum Level 2 qualification, working towards Level 3 will be considered, as well as experience of working in a nursery.

 

You will be required to work as part of the Early Years team to provide safe, high quality child care and education by providing challenging and engaging activities. 

 

Responsibilities will include being a key person, therefore applicants must have:

 

  • Good working knowledge of the EYFS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Flexible approach
