This week in Goldfinch Class we have had a lovely time in art using clay. We practised the skills of rolling, making a ball, making marks and making the clay smooth. We then used our skills to create a thumb pot. It was quite challenging as we had to be quite strong. We then added decoration to our pots using the slip and score method.
In English we have been reading the book 'Vlad and the great fire of London'. We have written some questions and exclamations based on pictures in the book. We have also answered questions about the book and written some facts trying to join them using words like 'because', 'when', 'after.'
In maths we have been putting tens and ones on a number line. We have played some games to practise this skill. We have also shown that we are estimating wizards.
In science we have looked around our classroom to find objects made of wood, metal, plastic, paper, cardboard and brick.
We spent time in PSHE doing some acting to show how we can express emotions in different ways. We had to think of helpful and unhelpful things to same to children who are showing these emotions. In music we learnt about call and response songs.
